Skin Cancer

Your skin is the largest organ of your body. It’s made up of layers of tissue and covers your muscles, bones and internal organs. The skin regulates your body temperature, protects you from dangerous pathogens, prevents water loss and produces vitamin D.

Cancer can form in the layers of tissue that make up the skin. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in both men and women, and Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. It may be caused by age, exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays and other factors.
